In a continued effort to get caught up on the blog, I present Easter pictures! We had Easter at my little brother’s house this year. It was the first time we’d had the chance to see his house since he and Magan got married. They were great hosts! They live in the country just north of the Red River, in Oklahoma (but we love them anyway) and have such a great area for pictures. There is even a rusted out car in the pasture past their house that I made all the kids pose with for an impromptu portrait session. There are too many pictures of Ruby, but she was actually cooperative that day and won’t normally let me take her picture. The other kids were less than thrilled with the prospect, especially where there were eggs to be hunted and candy to be eaten.

I love the circus so I dragged the family to the little traveling circus when it passed through town a few months ago. The kids were enthralled, right up until the point that they fell asleep.
Ok, so maybe I enjoyed it more than they did. Unfortunately we didn’t have very good seats for photographing the performers and wrangling two kids and a camera is a bit tough, but we did manage to get a few pictures.

February 6th is the Wedding Walkabout in Historic Downtown Gainesville (my hometown). Take the drive from Dallas to check out everything they have to offer. You can check out more information at www.shophistoricgainesville.com. While you are there be sure to check out Cahoots Handbags. You’ll fall in love with their amazing limited edition handbags, and their clutches make perfect bridesmaids gifts! They will be giving out goodie bags to the first 50 brides and will have champagne and treats, and sales on all the bags and clutches. In addition, Brides of North Texas will be set up inside Cahoots to celebrate the launch of their new magazine.

Little Miss Ruby turned one on January 24. I can’t beleive its been a year already! We had a little party with most of Ruby’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I managed to take a few detail shots before everyone arrived but once the party got started I was too busy playing Mom and host to pick up the camera. Luckily Simon remembered and took some photos of the celebration. It’s almost impossible to play host, parent and photographer at a party. Maybe one day I’ll hire someone to photograph my kids parties or trade out with another photographer. I’d love to photograph a kids party where I could focus entirely on the photography!
I made the cupcakes and was very proud of the frosting.
Granny Sue (Si’s mom) made the adorable ducky cake.

Ruby adores her Daddy!

mmm… cake!

And a few other random shots of kiddo cuteness:
